day 19-24: spring forward blog challenge

Yall. I have been so bad about this Spring Forward Blog Challenge! I'm sorry! Today is the day I will catch up :)

Day 19 What is something you hope never changes about you.
My passions. As you all know by now, I am a dreamer. I have so many goals and dreams for my life. I'm a lover of all things girl. I love fashion. Make up. Skin care products. Clothes. Shoes. But I also love music. Art. Cooking. Singing. Traveling. Some people say "why don't you just pick something and stick to it?" Well, that would be the easy thing to do. But I simply can't do that. I will always love these things. And I will always want to have my hand in them in some way. I hope my love for them doesn't fade. I hope I always "dream big" and "shoot for the stars" as cheesy as that sounds :)

Day 20 – The meaning behind your blog name.
I think it's pretty self-explanatory. And I think I've said it like 100 billion times. But I love "All Things Girl". Therefore, I write about it. Because I was once told "write what you know." And since I'm a girl, I know all things girl. :)

Day 21 – A photo of something that consistently makes you happy.
My nieces
Neela Kate, Faith Aubrey, Addyson Claire & Alexis Tiffany
(from left to right)
They never fail to make me smile!!! I love them so so so so much and I absolutely love being an aunt :) It is one of the biggest blessings of my life!

Day 22 – A letter to someone who has hurt you recently.
Why? WHY WHY WHY? That is what I've been screaming at the top of my lungs for the past couple of months. WHY would you want to hurt someone so badly? WHY do you think you are the "King" of the city? WHY do you think you can do something like that and not hurt anyone in the process? Or do you even care? WHY are you so selfish? WHY can't you just be a genuinely nice person that God has called all of us to be? I'm praying for the day that I actually run into you somewhere in public. I'm praying God gives me the patience to not be cruel. I pray God gives me the ability to not completely punch you in the face. I pray that God will intervene and give me the qualities He wants me to have. I also pray for you. Because after all, we're called to love ALL people. Including you. And even though that might be my biggest struggle right now, I'm gonna do it.

Know that this letter is NOT to a friend or a family member. This letter is addressed to more than one person that is NOT a friend of any kind.

Day 23 – Tell us something you think no one really knows about you.
Ummmm I'm not really sure? I'm pretty much an open book. If you don't know something about me and would like to, just ask me? :)

Day 24 – A photo of something that means a lot to you.
I could easily post another picture of my nieces. I just love them so much. But instead, I will post this picture.
My parents
It is such a blessing to have the parents that I have. They love me unconditionally. They will be there for me no matter what. In all of their life decisions they have always put God first and me, my brother and my sister second. They have always done what's best for us. They have taught me SO much. I would have no earthly clue what to do without them in my life. I'm thankful for the relationships I have with each of them. My mom is my best friend. Sure, that can get complicated sometimes. But it is so nice to have a mom that I know I can tell ANYTHING to and she will still love me. She might yell at me. But she will love me no matter what. I'm thankful to have a dad that has taught me responsibility. I am thankful for always making me feel safe and protected. I am thankful that I am his baby girl. And I pray those relationships never change.

spring forward blog challenge: 11 day catch up!

Wow! I haven't blogged in 11 whole days! I knew there was something missing in my life :)

California was amazing as always. I am so thankful for the trip and for the rest and relaxation I got! There will be a blog post coming soon dedicated solely to the trip! Be watching for it.

Alright, so let's get to the important stuff. My 11-day catch up for the Spring Forward Blog Challenge my friend Aleasa is doing! Yes...I am going to do all 11 days in one post! So bare with me :)

Day 6 – Tell us about your best friend when you were 16, and where you two stand today.

Well when I was 16, I had two very best friends. Sara & Samantha. I am so thankful to still have them as best friends today! Most people can't say that. We share so many funny memories!! And when we all three get together again, we go back to where we left off. I love that about us.

Day 7 – Tell us about your wedding or dream wedding.
Oh boy... if you know me, you know I LOOOOVVVVEEEE weddings. So I'm not even sure that I have time for this question. But I will tell you this - my wedding will be one of the most special days of my life. I started praying for my husband [whoever he may be] in 5th grade and I've been praying for him ever since! I'm praying for him to have patience. Since after all... look who I am. I'm praying for him to have all of the qualities a Christian man should have. So whether it's big, small, fancy, simple... having a wedding at all will be a dream come true for me. [does that sound pathetic? Oh well!]

Day 8 – The best advice you've ever received.
The best advice I've ever received? Hmmmm.... I've been given lots of great advice over the years. Mainly from my parents. So here it goes...
1.) Put Christ first in EVERYTHING you do.
2.) Always be the better person, even if you REALLY don't want to.
3.) Don't care so much about what people think about you. Just be yourself.
4.) You don't need money to make you happy.
5.) Love people. No matter what the cost.

Day 9 – A photo of your last significant purchase. Did it satisfy a need or a want?
So it's not exactly like this one in the picture...but I recently bought a Coach swingpack. I've been wanting one for a while! and when I went to the Coach outlet last week in California, I finally got one!

Day 10 – What is your favorite way to pamper yourself?
There's quite a combination... but it could be any of the following:
• getting my hair cut/colored - I loooovvvvee getting my hair washed at the salon, especially when they massage your head! ahhhh
• getting a mani/pedi
• shopping

Day 11 – The greatest vacation or trip you've ever had.
This would probably have to be my first trip to Los Angeles. This was when I absolutely fell in LOVE with California! You can read all about it and see pictures here.

Day 12 – A photograph of the town you grew up in. What did you love/hate about it?
Oh Pine Bluff...what a town you are. I'm not gonna say that I hated growing up in Pine Bluff. I had some pretty great friends and some pretty fun memories there! So I don't regret that I grew up there...after all...that's where I got all my street cred ;)

Day 13 – Where are you spiritually? In a valley or on a mountain?
I'm not really on a valley or a mountain. But things are really good. I've had my mountain and valley moments...probably all within this past month. But right now, I'm just trying to stay out of the valley. My faith has definitely been tested this past month and a half. My family is going through a really trying time right now. So it's been extra hard for me to remain faithful and remember that He is in control and His plan is greater than our own.

Day 14 – If you had unlimited resources, what would your life look like? (Have fun with this one!)
Ohhhh snap. I WILL have fun with this one :) I will let the pictures tell for me....

I would also have a fabulous husband & 4 kids......but I can't really find pictures of them yet :)

Day 15 – Something you don’t leave the house without. Why?
My cell phone...I absolutely can NOT live without it!! Isn't that so sad?

Day 16 - What do you miss most about your childhood?
I miss life being so simple. When you're a kid, the most of your worries is what your having for dinner that night. Or what little neighbor Tommy is thinking about you. When you become a grown up, you have much bigger worries. Worries about your future. Worries about money. Worries about jobs. Life gets so complicated so fast. Somedays I wish I could just go back to being a kid for a day!

days 4 and 5: spring forward blog challenge

I decided to do two days in one. Partly to catch up and be on the same days as Aleasa. {sometimes I can be pretty OCD} Anyway. Here we go....

Day 4 – Something or someone you can't live without, because you’ve tried.
I know a lot of people go deep with this one. Saying a person. But thankfully {and hopefully not any time soon}, I've never had to live without someone. Every person in my life that I truly hold dear to my heart, I've always had them in my life. I am definitely so thankful for that. Therefore, I will tell you one thing that I absolutely can't live without.

D i e t  C o k e

Isn't that such a shallow thing to not be able to live without? There was once a time that I thought I was going to give up all soft drinks all together. Boy, was I crazy?! Just like I say on my "about me" page... asking me to quit Diet Coke is like asking me to quit life. That's how serious I am about Diet Coke.

Day 5 – Something you definitely could live without.
Stupid people. I know that's probably a little to blunt for some of you...but it is SO TRUE. In my life, I have encountered thousands of stupid people. Whether they were just passer by's or people that I actually know. THOUSANDS of stupid people. I know that everyone has their own opinions. And I'm not one of those people that think "my way or the highway." But there are just some people out there who have absolutely NO CLUE what life is all about. There are too many people out there without common sense. And that irritates me to the core. This is probably mean. But stupid people make me so angry, I don't even care. :)

day 3: spring forward blog challenge

Day 3 – A photo of something you ate today. Was is it worth the calories?

Special K Strawberry Fruit Crisps

Seeing that this was only 100 calories, I'd say it's definitely worth the calories! The only problem is that I want to eat like 4 of them at a time! But that defeats the whole purpose of it being 100 calories.. and 3 Weight Watchers points. So I only eat one. And enjoy it verrryyyy slowly.

I know these are probably boring! So I will try and zest things up a little for the rest of the days!

day 2: spring forward blog challenge

Day 2 – Something you really don't like about yourself.

Wow. Really? Something I don't like about myself? Well, let me just jump right on in then.

I have little quirks that I wish I didn't have. I don't like it when people chew with their mouth open. I don't like it when people chomp on their ice [but yet, I'm guilty sometimes of doing that.] I wish I could get over these little things. But I just can't.

I don't like that I'm not a morning person. I wish ever so badly that I could wake up with a fresh smile on my face. It is actually quite the opposite.

Just like any other girl, I don't really like my body. But I'm working on that. So I won't waste much time complaining about it.

These were probably lame and I could probably go on....but I will stop there. :)

day 1: spring forward blog challenge

Day 1 – A picture of you and something you like about yourself.

My sense of fashion...... right?

This is me when I was about 4 years old. Although my styles have changed vastly over the years, I've always been quite the individualist when it comes to my clothing. My mom said she wouldn't try and battle me on what to wear. Apparently, I've always had a strong opinion on what I should and shouldn't wear. So I was destined to be a fashion critic, right? :)
