a new year

A new year? Aren't I about a month late? When I say "a new year," I really mean "a new me." And this is the year that I'm going to have this new me.

If you haven't already read Kate's blog, I will fill you in on what I mean.

So how am I going to change into this new me? What exactly do I mean? Weight loss. Bam. I said it. The two words that 99.9% of women in this world hate to hear. I know it probably hurts to hear it. Because honestly, it hurts me all over just thinking about it. But I'm for real this time. And thankfully, I have an amazing roommate to make this "life change" with me.

Kate and I will be dieting and working out together. But we're going to do it the smart way. Just by eating healthy, keeping track of what we eat, and working out. There will be no starving. There will be no only eating dry lettuce and grilled chicken. This is going to be a healthy journey. A long, boring, drawn out, journey. But it's ok. This too shall pass.

Hopefully it'll pass into an even happier, skinnier version of myself. Don't get me wrong. I'm happy. I don't find my happiness in my looks. I find my happiness in Jesus Christ. But I've decided that if I ever want to get serious about this, it's not gonna be just to look better. It's going to be about feeling better. It's going to be about adding years to my life so I can play with my grandchildren. It's about attaining to be the healthiest version of myself.

And what better way to keep myself accountable than telling the world [or the 5 people that actually read this thing] that I'm starting this new life. Kate said it best. "Because let's be real, how lame would it be if we did a blog about losing weight and didn't actually lose weight?" Therefore, we have started a new blog. Don't fret. I'll still be very faithful to this blog. But this new blog will be a gateway into our future. It will be a source for our thoughts. A source for our tears. A source for our bad days. A source for our good days. Even a source for our recipes to share with everyone. And hopefully, as time goes on and inches melt off of our bodies, we will show you how dieting and working out can work.

If you would like to join in on our journey, we would love to have you! Our blog can be your place of comfort. It will be a judge-free zone. So feel free to comment and let us know how you are doing.

P.S. I can not believe I just spilled all of that out into the realm of the internet world. I shall now press "Publish Post" before I change my mind.

P.P.S. I should probably give you all the link to our new blog instead of just rambling on about it and making you guess. Check it out. >Amy & Kate<
