big change

"Any change, even a change for the better,
is always accompanied by drawbacks and discomforts."
- Arnold Bennett

"Change is the law of life and those who
look only to the past or present
are certain to miss the future."
- John F. Kennedy

I know what you might be thinking. "Another blog post about life and change?" Well, quite simply, yes. Why? Because my life is constantly changing. And I blog about my life. Therefore, over the years to come, there will be many posts about change. Hopefully like this one, they will be about good change.

Within this past year, my life has immensely changed. I graduated from college. I moved out and got a place of my own. I started my first "big girl" job. I pushed myself out of comfort zones. I made new friends. I had to learn how to manage health insurance and retirement plans. I had to learn that making your own money, while completely freeing, is hard work. I learned that you have to work hard to attain anything you want in life. I learned a lot. With all of that learning, change was right there to accompany it. I went through a lot of change within a very short amount of time.

A year later and I'm still learning and my life is still changing. My year at Rock Creek has been unbelievable. I have made lifelong friends. These people are amazing and they have been there for me through great times of need. They have encouraged me. They have prayed for me. They have taught me so much. They have laughed with me. They have cried with me. They listened to me whine and complain. But yet, they still loved me.

You've heard me speak tons of great things about Ouachita Baptist University. It is my alma mater and I couldn't be a prouder alum! That was the place the Lord truly got a hold of my heart and changed me. He introduced me to some of the greatest people, making some of them my lifelong friends.

If you haven't caught on by now, I will be starting a new job. And I am very proud to announce that I am the newest admissions counselor at the best school in the country - Ouachita Baptist University!!! While I am super excited to start my job at OBU, it comes with bittersweet emotions. Obviously you see that I love working at Rock Creek. But I know that the Lord has great plans for me (which is a crazy story for another blog post). And I know that His timing is perfect. And I also know that without Him, I wouldn't be where I am today.

Here are some answers to some commonly asked questions:
Will you be moving to Arkadelphia?
Not at the moment. My lease with Kate isn't up until November. So I will be driving back and forth a lot for a little while. But I will make it work and hopefully the Lord will bring something for me in November!
When do you start?
Two weeks from today - Monday, August 29
What territory will you be over?
South AR, Memphis & Greater Tennessee

I could not be more excited to get the opportunity to work at the vessel God used to change my life. I can't wait to meet and get to know the future students that I get to encourage to come to OBU!
